NINE MONTHS OLD!

What a lil Chubba Chops!

Current Weight: 16100 grams
Current Length: 79cm (roughly)
Current Size: 2

This has been a super cute month! She is definitely getting smarter by the day and she is learning very quickly! She started crawling this month - and now she is unstoppable! We have a little Playpen for her that we put in the middle of the lounge - (Thanks again Natty for giving it to us! - Very Handy!) But she has outgrown it pretty fast and it doesn't give her enough room to crawl around - so she just pulls herself up off it to stand and gives us a puppy dog look to be set free! hehe! So we are soon to block off the lounge and completely childproof it so that the lounge can be her own room to crawl around and explore - without having to worry about her getting into dangerous situations!

We also moved her to the cot this month - up until then she had been sleeping in my bed with me. (Dan was sleeping on a matress next to our bed because our bed was too uncomfortable for his back.) So I had a double bed to myself and so I would have Kayla sleep with me in the cool (aircon doesn't work properly in the nursery.) But now she was a real wriggle worm, and it was becoming unsafe for her to sleep on our bed - she was starting to come close to rolling off!

So we moved the cot to our room, and she took to it SO quickly! I thought she was going to hate it - but she actually has been sleeping through the night since being in her cot! (Wish I done it earlier!!) She loves her cot - when she wakes up she is happy to just hang out and play with her toys in her cot! It's the best thing ever!! She is crying much less too now - because she is much more curious by everything and easily entertained. Sometimes she just sits there and giggles her little head off at nothing - just because she can!

SO many other things she has picked up on too! She has learned to clap and she tries to say 'clap' too as she does it, but it comes out more like "calp calp calp calp calp" - so cute! She also claps our hands too - like a high five. She picked it up from me trying to teach her the Patty Cake clapping game - it is so much fun! Its funny when she learns something new - she just does it all the time - until she learns a new trick! She was even clapping in her sleep for a while there - it was such a hilarious sight!

She's also doing the "Ooooooooooo" to everything too. Like when she sees something that excites her, or if she hears a loud noise - especially when I read to her and turn the page in her favourite book. She's also waving now too and gives kisses! Her kisses are heart melting! When she wakes up in the mornings I come in and press my face in-between two bars of the cot and pucker my lips, and she crawls over to me and gives me a kiss! hehe

She's even trying to whistle!! Sometimes I whistle to her and she tries so hard to do it too she is just about doing it! It sounds like one of those old boiling kettles but close enough!

One really hilarious thing that she likes to do is blow raspberries on our faces and arms! Dan often blows raspberries on her belly and so she decided she wants to do the same to us! It is so hilarious! And she does it better than we can LOL!

But the cutest learning surprise this month would have to be her pointing and whispering! Usually with most of her new skills I expect them to happen because I put effort into actually teaching her them - but this one was an actual habit of mine that she picked up on! I never realized just how much I did it until she started doing it - but whenever someone would enter the room, or even a cat, or something came on TV - I would point at it (or them) and whisper to Kayla "Who's that?" or "What's that?" So she does it too now to EVERYTHING lol! It's the cutest thing ever and she says it spot on! But it also makes you realize - at this stage you really do have to be careful what you say around her because she is very clever at repeating it! haha

I know I say it every month but it really has been my favourite month so far! And it was especially exciting because we had a wonderful visit from Grandma Sue and Aunty Emily (Dan's Mum and Sister) to witness her new skills too! We really enjoyed having them here and can't wait to see them again!!!
