ELEVEN MONTHS OLD!

(She's giggling her little head off in this pic!)

Can ya believe she is turning 1 very soon??

Current Weight: 16100g (her weight has stayed the same for 2 months!)
Current Length: 81cm (roughly)
Current Size: 3-4

Firstly... a couple of weeks ago she TOOK HER FIRST STEPS!!! =D YAY!!! And we captured a little video of her second attempt...

She's so proud of herself - it's so cute! But since then she has been walking with ease now so she is officially walking! It actually didn't take her very long to master it, she figured it out pretty quickly and now has very good ballance, but she still can get a bit lazy and prefer to crawl sometimes hehe.

The clever cookie can also count to 2 now! Well... mostly I say '1' and she say's '2' but someones she'll suprise us by pointing to her thumb and saying 'onnne' and then will point to her finger and say 'twooo'. I think it's rather clever - because it shows that she has a clever memory, not with just repeating something she hears - but knowing what comes after the number 1!

Also like with the phone - she knows that you are suppose to pick up the phone and say 'hello' and that has been her favourite thing to do lately. She'll walk over pick up the phone - dial some numbers then put the phone to her ear and say 'hello' (only she holds it upside down!!.) It's super cute - but she is banned from playing with the phone now after she managed to dial 000 EMERGENCY!! (whoops!)

She's also good at following instructions - she has a toy trolley that she plays with and she puts toys in it. The first time she did it I said "Good girl - put it in the trolley" and she understood it from then on. When ever she has a toy in her hand I'll say "Put it in the trolley" and shell look around the room for it and walk over and drop it in. But since then one day I said it without realising that the trolley wasn't in the room - so the poor little thing got confused and was pacing around the room looking for it! In the end she scratched her head and went and dumped the toy in the toybox because she figured it was close enough! haha! So now she thinks the toy box is the trolley - but thats fine with us because that's where the toys belong anyway and it has been a great way to teach her to put her toys away.

She's also saying 'Bottle' now too to let us know when she wants a drink and she also understands "where's your bottle?" - she'll go and collect it when we say it. She is having less bottles now that she is eating 3 times a day - but it's going to be very hard to ween her off it completely because she is very attached to it especially at nap time! But one great thing is she isn't interested in her dummy anymore and hasn't been for a month! So that's a good thing!

She has such a cheeky personality - and she seems to get cheekier as she gets older. She really loves to laugh and will sometimes giggle in hysterics just for the heck of it! One thing that really makes her laugh is the 'Rat-Face'! For those who don't know the famous Rat-Face it is this...

(This is Rat Girl - my character from my cheeky online comic strip 'The Adventures of Rat Girl' that I haven't updated for flippen ages!!)

But anyways - it probably wasn't the best idea because the cheeky thing learnt to do the rat-face herself and now she does it to everyone!! Especially strangers in the super market - it's a little embarrassing haha!

Meet Rat Bag!!...

It is cute though - and she can make even the most grumpiest person laugh with this face! We took her out shopping the other night and this tough looking dark guy stomped by us - he was very mean looking and unfriendly and would not smile for anyone. He was with a group of people which looked like some kind of angry gang who would kill anyone who would look at them the wrong way! But just as he walked by us he caught a glimpse of Kayla and she pulled the Rat-Face at him! He couldn't hold back his smile and just started laughing his butt off! It was great! Plus she's all smiles and waves and says hello to EVERYONE that walks by. She get's so much attention from strangers when we are out with her.

She is just so much fun and loves to goof off and have lots of giggles. She loves to dance too I must get a video of her little booty shake - it's hilarious!!!

Here's a little 5minute clip of her goofing off with Dada...

Other than that - she has been a bit sick with a virus lately which she has almost recovered from. Was scary to find her with a big rash all over her face after quite a bit of vomiting! All is fine now though and nothing to worry about. Luckily Mum and Dad took good care of her for me while I had been in hospital with my own sickness!!

Only thing now is she has discovered that by sticking her fingers down her throat she can make herself gag and throw up! It's a little worrying because she is amused by it! But hopefully it will pass soon.

OK - Photo time....

TEN MONTHS OLD!

Stealing the spotlight!

Current Weight: will update soon

(Use the online converter if you would like to work it out in pounds and inches.)

Another exciting month! This Month she is waving at everything and says 'Hello' to everyone (so cute!) She has opened up a lot and is becoming very friendly to even strangers. When we take her out she gives everyone big smiles and waves and yells hello at them! She is turning out to be quite the little show pony! hehe She also blows kisses which is the cutest thing ever and she now dances too - when ever she hears music she gets her groove on and shakes her lil booty!

She is now standing all on her own without support - even multitasking by occupying her little hands with objects - like reading books and flipping pages while she stands! She knows she is clever too! Gives off a big grin as if to say - "look what I can do!!" She can push herself up from the ground to stand steady on her feet - she hasn't quite attempted to make her first steps yet but she happily surfs around on the furniture!

She's such a loud little thing - the boss of the house and likes to join in our conversations by yelling over the top of us! She is repeating absolutely everything we say now - so we definitely make sure we are careful with what we say.

She has also learned to say "shhhh"while putting her wee finger up to her mouth. But the cheeky thing has also worked out what it means and likes to test it by getting louder just to make us do it! She also understands "come here" and uses it to make us come to her - with the little 'come here' hand action too.

She's starting to understand a lot of words now - pretty much most of what we have taught her (and some which we have not!) She's so funny to watch - she does this little thing where she finds and picks up little things off the floor (like rubbish and stones and stuff that the vacuum missed.) At first they were going straight in the mouth and I would leap over to grab it off her as fast as I could. But now when she finds something little - she picks it up and looks over at me with a cheeky grin, I'll stand up slowly to get ready to pounce and she'll quickly crawl away giggling trying to get away from me! Man she is fast! It's like a game to her - she loves to be chased!

She is laughing and giggling all the time now too - especially when we laugh, she just loves to laugh with us for the heck of it - even though she doesn't understand what is actually funny! It's adorable! She does this little snort giggle which is so hilarious! She scrunches up her little nose and snorts and giggles! It's hard to explain - but it is so funny! (I had a little video of it - but it keeps failing to upload!!)

Also this month Uncle Paul and Aunty Anita came for a visit - it was Paul's first time meeting his niece and it was so cute watching Kayla warm up to him. She wasn't so sure at first but in the end she came up to him and gave him cuddles! It was heart melting! Uncle Danial came too - and he looks fabulous after losing 41KGs!!! CONGRATS AGAIN!!
